This week I am delighted to share with you my visit with home builder, Rob Gibbs, of Arete Homes of Santa Fe. We talked about the benefits of owning a new home and explain what a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rating is as well as dig into Santa Fe's green building code a bit. Rob explains the testing and inspection process new homes undergo to determine a home's efficiencies, including insulation, windows, energy-efficient appliances and equipment, lighting, water use and more. We briefly touch on WERS (water energy rating system) as well.
