Second Quarter 2015
The number of Santa Fe area home sales has risen by about 12.5% annually for the past three years, and surged above seven hundred closings during the quarter ending June 30, 2015. That’s more sales than any quarter since 2006. This strong, consistent demand for houses has depleted the number of active listings.
Second Quarter 2014
As the second quarter of the year drew to an end, Santa Fe was humming. Prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Magazine’s annual poll ranked Santa Fe as the number one choice for best small city in America! Mayor Javier Gonzales seems focused on welcoming downtown shoppers and Plaza visitors, locals and tourists alike. The Railyard and Guadalupe Street are also lively, and the new Violet Crown theatre will open later this year with a new business model for enjoying dinner and a movie. The new Drury Hotel is scheduled to open soon just a block or so from the Plaza, bringing new luxurious amenities to join the existing fabulous dining, lodging, shopping and entertainment venues.
First Quarter 2014
It’s spring again and it’s fabulous to be in Santa Fe. Lilacs have leafed out despite the winter drought. Farmers in the villages of northern New Mexico will turn and plant the fields, clean the acequias, and the traditional cycle of life continues, attending more to the season than to the clock. The ski basin got snow both early and late in the season, making it a good winter on the mountain.
